Andy (Ben Feldman) hasn't seen his dad since he asked Andy, nine, for all of the money he'd saved to buy a new toy, then left Andy and his mom and went home to Australia.

Now an adult, Andy needs something from Hugo, so he goes searching for him in a tiny town in the Outback of Australia. The problem is, the 11 other people who live in the town, all of whom are fairly eccentric, haven't seen Hugo (Darren Gilshenan) in quite a while. Andy needs to track him down, but he doesn't get much help until he runs into Cassie (Perry Mooney), who's traveling through town. When she learns of Andy's predicament, she stays to help him find his father.
