In 1980s Hollywood, adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx (Mia Goth) finally gets her big break when she's hired to star in the horror movie sequel The Puritan 2, directed by Liz Bender (Elizabeth Debicki).

But a mysterious killer stalks the starlets of Hollywood, and Maxine is connected to a number of the victims. When she refuses to cooperate with LAPD homicide Detectives Williams (Michelle Monaghan) and Torres (Bobby Canavale), a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past.
