Not Pleasant

The initial customer service person we dealt with was not very personable, he didn’t alert us to the fact that we were buying 3D version of the movie and was rude when we were trying to chose the time. The theatre was filthy! Popcorn in our seats, under our seats had enough popcorn to fill buckets and the laminate on our trays was peeling leaving the press board wood visible and the floors had food all over them. We had a terrible time trying to order our food, my husband had to leave the movie to go to the lobby to order. Even when leaving the bathrooms smelled and were also dirty. For the amount of money we paid for three people we will not be going back after this experience. Thankfully the movie was good.

Manager Christopher was AMAZING

A few minor issues but the manager Christopher was absolutely amazing. He tended to everything and made us feel he cares about it being right. He is also Hilarious. He joked with is and was a joy to deal with.

Arrived at theater and someone else was in our seats, was happy to switch seats but had preordered food. Asked a worker for help who told me I had to wait for management, waited so long I finally asked the elderly couple to move. Ordered food and drinks for 11:40. At 11:50 I went to check that the people in our seats didn't accidentally get our food. Was told I had to wait for a manager. I asked if someone could come speak to me at my seat since I was missing the movie. Someone came to my seat and said they would check on my food. Waited 25 more minutes. Went looking again and found workers just standing around.So irritated I asked for a refund. Daisy the manager, told me I was overreacting. I guess 35 minutes late for food (and still waiting) is acceptable. To top it off rather than refund me I was charged a second time for the food.

Best theater in town!

We love the Movie Tavern for it's comfortable seating, fast attentive food service and ease of booking on-line. There are no added fees when you book on-line as a Movie Rewards Member. There are always new releases and old favorites, special offers with crazy low movie prices that make it affordable for everyone. You can come just for the movie, you do not have to purchase food and drinks. Sometimes we purchase food other times we ask for a free glass of water. The staff is friendly regardless.

Never had good popcorn here or quick service. It's never clean and waiting a LONG time for just popcorn and $7 frozen lemonades in a small to go cup- ridiculous. We go only because it's close and has $5 days. NEVER ordering a thing- I don't even want your free popcorn on Tuesday (although my kids might).

First time, maybe last time.

The actual movie/sound was great. The seats were good. Service is very very very slow. The food was cold and not very good. It's also expensive. The fire alarm went off right after I got my cold pretzels and hard cheese dip. Half an hour later, we were allowed back into the building. But at least the movie was good, right? That's 31.00 in tickets i'll never spend again.

Pampered movie experience for barely more than the sub-standard mall experience!

Admittedly, we have not been to Movie Tavern since this summer. But, we have went many , many times. We have never had a bad experience. The theatre has always been very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The seats are amazing. The picture and sound quality are outstanding. The space between the seats and the next row - even when fully reclined is ample (plenty of room to walk by without having to turn to the side or hit someone' feet/seat). While we usually just opt for sodas, shakes, and popcorn the quality and portions have always been fair for concessions. If I was to find any negative at all it would be that once or twice it took a little longer for our orders to get to us than most of our experiences. However, understand that the majority of the times we have been there we have waited 15 minutes or less from the time we placed our orders. The prices have ticked up a little bit. However, they are still are not that much over what you get for the sticky, dirty, loud mall theatre experience - with the risk of rude cretins using their phone and/or talking. When we go next we will find out if the angry posts have become the norm. But, based on all our experiences I rather doubt that will be the case. Given how full the parking lot always is; as well as how quickly the theatres fill up for new releases and popular showings I doubt they are the case. Go and judge for yourself, I doubt you'll be disappointed you did!

Horrible service and filthy

Went and saw the Good Liar which was a good movie. Now the Movie Tavern experience is horrible and mismanaged. I've seen cleaner bathrooms at a Gas Station. My wife ordered Hot Chocolate with whipped cream (the theater was freezing - probably trying to save money since people are not flocking there). We got our Hot Chocolate (barely warm) without the Whipped Cream. I told the server that we asked for whipped cream, her answer: "it happens" then walked away. We were dumbfounded - will never go there again!!!!
