Nice place to see a Movie, but EXPENSIVE!!

Me and a group of my friends go once a month to see a movie at the IMAX. We went to see our regular monthly movie in March and discovered that AMC had raised their prices from $12.00 to $15.00 for the IMAX! They also raised their prices from $4.50 to $7.50! We love going to the AMC, but in April we are looking for a new Theater to see the movies.

AMC IMAX Springfield, MO blows chunks

AMC IMAX, Springfield MO where I viewed "Top Gun: Maverick" has a completely inadequate sound system for rendering the audio portion of the supposedly "immersive" experience. The volume was too high; it took one's attention to ignore it. This was evident in a most obvious way repeatedly in two types of scenes: 1) During conversations, it was as if the actors were speaking at a volume high enough to be heard 'across a room' instead of face to face. There was no chance for tone or inflection to create an emphasis--as a whispering voice might imply something secretive or important--"what" whisper?? not in this theater. If this was done in order to alleviate closed captioning, it was an utter failure. 2) in action scenes, the volume was up so high that distortion was complete and painfully annoying in the screeching rendition of whatever was shown on the screen--*tires* might screech during a high-speed chase but an approaching plane doesn't. Loudness is fine and required in many scenes, but the accompanying high pitched scream should not be a screech of distortion--one that sounds almost like fingernails on a chalkboard--that's the sound of speakers mismatched with an amplifier being played too loud. Someone made the decision to spend less than required on the audio system and that's plainly obvious at this theater. I've been on the deck directly beneath some of the Blue Angels stunt team when they pulled out of their dive. "THUNDEROUS" doesn't begin to describe the immense volume that 4 jet engines put out climbing out of a dive. But they didn't screech like this theater's audio system, nor was it annoying nor painful to hear them like the rendering at AMC IMAX Springfield, MO. I REALLY enjoyed my 1st viewing at the IMAX in Dublin, CA- where it's obvious the more affluent clientele demands better of the local theater, where the audio was a STUNNING contribution to the movie itse

Poor services, pricing and cleanliness.

Good staff workers and are busy...overworked. Slacker staff were arguing in the hall over whose 'turn it was to clean a theater. Really? Do it together, stop being a creeper and help the lines for concession.

Employees are rude and act like they have no training!!!

The quality of service and entertainment atmosphere have declined drastically in the last several weeks. Employees are rude and clueless. Doesn't anyone train these people ? I've attended this theatre for years and it has always been a pleasant and courteous experience. The manager who ran the theatre was always helpful and went well out of her way to take care of any problems and see that my family had a pleasurable experience. I no longer see her at the theatre and the employees act as though they are lost and talking on their cell phones. Cleanliness has also taken a drastic change for the worse!!! I will be visiting the new theatre taking Campbell 16 place when they open. Seating will be just as nice with new recliners. Hopefully I will once again have a cheerful family entertainment experience. Thanks for destroying a great Springfield icon and entertainment jewel!

Worst experience I've ever had at a movie theater

Worst customer service, high priced everything. Poor management and bad quality compared to other theaters. Just bad all around, and now with covid you've got mask police as employees on top of everything else. We won't go back, but if you like someone controlling you while being extremely rude and patronizing and then over charging you for that lovely experience than this might be the right place for you.

Worse experience ever with employees! Very rude!

Worse experience ever w/employees! Very RUDE! Embarrassed my Grandson & me while at consession stand. Then within 1 minute, embarrassed another customer in the line beside us! Not helpful at all, acted putout 2 help. Also we attended the 7:30pm movie on Saturday night & when done w/movie there wasn't an employee in sight! Its like they all just packed up & went home!!! We will not be going back to this location (Springfield Mo) ever again!!!

Worst theater in Springfield

Without a doubt the worst theater in Springfield since AMC has taken over. The employees are incredibly rude, the theaters are filthy now, and they’ve raised the prices on everything. Do yourself a favor and go to the draft house.

RACISTS

Just went to have a good od time and found a nasty racist “ supervising”, mistreating and disrespecting my wife stating that he would “make her leave” because she asked to cancel the popcorn order. The racist did not like my wife’ s accent. period. Disgraced person with no manners and worthless. We will make sure to publish this event in proper media and will take to instances so that this useless individual can be certainly reprimanded and fired form that place. For the sake of the theater that by the way, has substantially declined in quality and service over last years
