Harkins Theatres was founded in 1933 by Red Harkins in Arizona, and has remained a family owned and operated business in its over 80-year history. It currently operates 434 screens in 30 theaters throughout the Southwestern U.S.; in Arizona, California, Colorado, Oklahoma and Texas. Harkins also owns Arizona’s oldest and longest-running theater, the Valley Art Theatre. It is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, and since November 2006, Dan Harkins has been CEO. Its parent company is Harkins Enterprises, LLC.
