Owned by parent company, Cinépolis Mexico, which was first founded in Morelia, Michoacán in 1947 by Enrique Ramírez Villalón, first named Cine Morelos, followed by Cinematográfica Cadena de Oro, S.A., then Cinemas Gemelos in 1972, and finally as Cinépolis in 1994. In the decades since, it has since positioned itself as the number one cinema company in Mexico, with locations in the United States, Brazil, Central America, India, and Spain. Cinépolis Movie Cinemas USA opened its first theater in Del Mar, California in 2011 and now has 12 theaters across in California and Florida, including six Luxury Theaters, four Premium Theaters and two Traditional Theaters.
