Ziyi Zhang Overview

Born in Beijing, China, Ziyi studied dance at the Beijing Dance Academy Middle School for four years. In 1994 she was awarded the Chinese Fold Dance Taoli Cup at the National Youth Dance Contest. She began her acting career working on a number of commercials in Beijing and Hong Kong. In 1999 she landed her first feature film role in The Road Home (Wo de fu qin mu qin).
