Although Ward Kirby Horton was born in Morristown, New Jersey, he moved with his family at a very young age to a farm in North Carolina. There, he developed a love for riding horses and playing basketball. Ward went on to attain a Business degree from the University of Wake Forest and worked as an investment banker for quite sometime. However, Ward had an inclination towards acting and moved to New York City to jumpstart his career.
Ward struggled with modeling jobs and a series of small screen cameos before breaking onto the big screen. Even then, he was cast as an extra or an unaccredited role. Finally, Ward successfully landed the recurring role of Dean Trayger on the soap opera, One Life to Live, in 2013.
Ward also briefly starred in The Wolf of Wall Street as an unnamed broker. The role was enough to land him the lead in the highly anticipated horror film Annabelle, alongside actress Annabelle Wallis as his wife. Ward played the role of John, a studious doctor with a newborn baby girl. While he’s at work, his wife is subjected to supernatural attacks seemingly stemming from a doll.
Ward and Alexa Horton were married in 2000 and have a daughter named Grace.
