Tyler James Williams earned his first paycheck at the age of four, when he became a series regular on Sesame Street. Four years later, he voiced the character of Bobby on Bill Cosby's animated series Little Bill and in 2005, made a guest appearance on an episode of Law & Order: SVU.
Later that same year, Williams was cast as the star of the sitcom Everybody Hates Chris, playing a young Chris Rock. The show, based on comedian Rock's childhood, was an instant hit with critics and audiences alike.
Williams has begun a movie career as well, playing the role of Charlie, a kid who's stranded in an airport on Christmas eve in Unaccompanied Minors (2006) and portraying various characters in the big screen animated features Everyone's Hero and The Ant Bully (both 2006).
A native New Yorker, Williams lives with his mother and two younger brothers in Los Angeles when working on the show. During hiatus, unless he's filming a movie, they return to NYC, where their father is a longtime sergeant with the NYPD.
Off set, Williams enjoys playing basketball and football.
