Tom Green was born in Pembroke, Ontario. After attending school in Ottawa, Green went to Algonquin College in Ottawa to do a TV broadcasting program. Inspired by comics David Letterman and Tony Hawk, Green started to do stand up comedy at Yuk Yuks in Ottawa. It was here that he met future Tom Green Show "coffee-drinker" Phil.
