TIM HILL

Before getting his chance to direct a feature length motion picture, Hill spent years working as a writer, story editor and producer, and directed a number of small projects for Nickelodeon, Disney, and Comedy Central to name a few.

Earlier projects with these companies for the small screen included Rock-A-Big-Baby, Rocko's Modern Life, Song Bob Square Pants, the stop-motion series Action League Now! (which he also wrote, directed and produced) for a year, and the comedy series Exit 57.

In 1999, Hill took the leap into feature film work and directed Muppets From Space which fared well with the critics and at the box office. He followed up the success of Muppets with family films such as Max Keeble's Big Move (2001), Garfield's A Tale of Two Kitties (2006), Alvin and the Chipmunks (2007) and Hop (2011), starring Russell Brand and James Marsden.

It took almost 10 years before another Tim Hill production made its way to the screens of movie theaters, when the animated comedy The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run was released in 2020.

The nephew of famed director George Roy Hill, Tim is married to actress Veronica Alicino.
