Thomas Brodie-Sangster was born and raised in London, England. From an early age, the young actor had cinematography genes in his blood, as his mother, Tasha Bertram, is an actress and his father, Mark Sangster, is a musician and film editor. Thomas began landing television roles as early as 11 years old. After a series of short films and mini-series, Thomas caught his big break in 2001 when he landed the role of a young, hopeless romantic in Richard CurtisLove Actually. For this role, Thomas was nominated for a Golden Satellite Award and a Young Artist Award.

Having captured the hearts of millions, Thomas went on to star in a blend of films and television series; most notably: Nanny McPhee (2005), Tristan + Isolde (2006), Bright Star (2009) and Nowhere Boy (2010).

Although Thomas maintained his boyish looks and charm, he challenged himself by taking on the role of Jojen Reed in 2013 on the hit HBO Television series Game of Thrones. Though the gig lasted only a year, Thomas was able to prove his versatility to audiences.

Thomas played Newt in The Maze Runner (2014), which debuted at the top of the box office. The first in a trilogy, the action packed sci-fi thriller is based on the bestselling books by James Dashner. He reprised his role in the successful sequels, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015) and Maze Runner: The Death Cure(2018).

On television, Thomas played Whitey Winn on the Netflix western series Godless in 2017, alongside Jeff Daniels and fellow Brits Jack O'Connell and Michelle Dockery.
