Born: July 15, 1972

Scott Foley has been acting since 1995. Born in Kansas City, Kansas to Constance and Hugh Foley, he is the oldest of three boys. After spending his first 15 years in Kansas City, he and his family moved to St. Louis, Missouri.

Scott made his professional acting debut on the television series Sweet Valley High. He appeared in the season two episode "Blunder Alley" as the character Zack. His early guest role credits include appearances on Step by Step, Dawson’s Creek, and Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane.

Scott’s breakout role came in 1998 when he booked the part of Noel Crane on the television series Felicity, created by J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves, and starring Kerri Russell. He appeared in all 84 episodes of the show, which ran for four seasons from 1998 to 2002.

While still filming Felicity, Scott made his feature film debut in Scream 3 (2000) in the role of Roman Bridger. In January 2025, it was announced that he would be reprising his role in Scream 7, which is currently set to release in 2026.

Scott continued his career on television, booking guest appearances on a variety of shows such as Girls Club, Jack & Bobby, and House. In 2002, after the end of Felicity, he booked the part of Sean Kelly on Scrubs. He appeared in 12 episodes, which included a supporting role in the series’ third season.

In 2006, Scott booked his next big role as Bob Brown in the CBS military drama The Unit. He appeared in all 69 episodes across four seasons from 2006 to 2009.
In 2013, he made a guest appearance on Scandal as the character, Jake Ballard, with Kerry Washington. He first appeared in the second season before being added as a series regular, appearing in 104 episodes in total, ending in 2018.

In 2014, Scott directed his first feature film, Let’s Kill Ward’s Wife, which he also starred in.

Most recently, Scott starred in the Netflix romantic comedy film La Dolce Villa (2025).

On October 19, 2000, Scott married actress Jennifer Gardner, who had guest-starred on Felicity. The two separated in March 2003. He then became engaged to Polish-born actress Marika Dominczyk in 2006. The two remain together and have one daughter and two sons.
