Born: March 29, 1972
Sam Hazeldine was born in Hammersmith, London, England. A big fan of movies, acting, and music as a child, he decided early on that he wanted to become an actor. Sam went on to attend the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art to pursue his dream.
After completing acting courses at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1993, Sam put his acting career on hold and tried his hand at creating music, joining as a singer for the rock group, Mover. He returned to acting in 2003.
Sam made his television debut in 2003, playing D.C. David Butcher on the Primetime Emmy-nominated show Prime Suspect 6: The Last Witness (2003).
In 2004, Sam made his big screen debut, playing the role of a journalist in the film Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004). He also played Ivan in the film The Raven (2012).
He has also starred in and composed the music for the 2009 short drama Good as Gone (2009).
In 2015, Sam played Georgie Sewell, the right hand man to Noah Taylor’s Darby Sabini on the second season of the critically acclaimed BBC drama series Peaky Blinders.
After his time on Peaky Blinders, Sam played Liefr in the film The Huntsman: Winter’s War (2018). The film was nominated for a Golden Trailer Award for Best Action, and Best Fantasy Adventure in 2016, along with a Teen Choice Award nomination for Choice Movie: Sci-Fi/Fantasy.
In 2018, Sam played John McDaniel on the Netflix series The Innocents (2018). The show ran for one season, earning a Hollywood Music In Media Award for Best Original Song - TV Show/Limited Series.
Sam has also been a part of multiple theater productions, which include the English Touring Theatre production of Hamlet, in the role of Horatio, Salisbury Playhouse’s production of Othello, playing Cassio, and in the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of The Gods Weep, where he played The Soldier.
His most recent project has him playing Thomin du Bois in the film The Last Duel (2021), acting alongside Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Adam Driver, and Jodie Comer.
Outside of acting on stage and on screen, Sam has also done voiceover work for TV documentaries, nature shows, audiobooks, including the official 2009 and 2010 Wimbledon tennis videos. He also voiced the part of Barty Crouch Jr. and other small characters in the 2005 video game Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. ~Sean Olegario
