Toronto native Robbie Amell started modeling and acting in commercials when he was just six years old. When he was in his mid-teens, he began landing roles at Lawrence Park Stage in plays such as Louis and Dave, Picasso at the Lapin Agile and The Importance of Being Earnest. The experience made Robbie realize he wanted to pursue acting as a career.
Not long after making that decision, Robbie landed the role of Daniel Murtaugh, the eldest son of Eugene Levy and Carmen Electra, in the major motion picture Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (2005) starring Steve Martin. He has since starred in several TV films.
In 2014, Robbie was chosen to play Stephen Jameson on The CW series The Tomorrow People. In 2015, he starred alongside Mae Whitman in The DUFF and played a lead role in the Disney feature film Max. In 2015, he played a U.S Marine in the family film Max (2015). He has also starred in two seasons of the CW series The Flash playing the role of Ronnie Raymond/Firestorm and is preparing to film a third season. In 2016, he played Agent Miller in two episodes of the TV reboot The X-Files alongside David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, and appeared in the comedies Nine Lives and When We First Met, as well as the horror flick The Babysitter and the sci-fi flick ARQ.
In 2019, he starred in and produced action film Code 8, along with his cousin Stephen. More recently, he starred in the Amazon Prime Video comedy series Upload (2020) and in the Netflix film Desperados (2020).
A true Canadian, Robbie has played hockey since he was a young boy. He also takes Muay Thai (martial arts) classes and studies break dancing. He is married to his long-time girlfriend Italia Ricci. Robbie's cousin, Stephen Amell, is also a successful actor.
