Olvia Holt was born in Germantown, Tennessee, to Mark and Kim Holt. Growing up, Olivia moved around, from Germantown to Memphis to Nesbit, Mississippi in rapid succession. Olivia was homeschooled for a good portion of her childhood, but she graduated from Oak Park High School when her family made their final move to Los Angeles.
Olvia began acting in local theatre productions and television commercials for products such as Hasbro and Mattel. She made her feature film debut in Black and Blue (2009). In addition to acting, Olivia took gymnastics as a child for seven years. She was able to combine these skills to book her first major role on the Disney XD martial arts comedy series Kickin’ It. Olivia played the role of Kim and appeared in 69 episodes, airing from 2011 to 2015.
Olivia continued to appear on a variety of Disney programs over the next few years, while booking roles in smaller films as well. She appeared in The Standoff (2016), Class Rank (2017) with Kristin Chenoweth and Same Kind of Different as Me (2017) with Renée Zellweger and Djimon Hounsou.
Olivia's next big role came in 2017 when she played one of the leads on the Freeform and Marvel Comics series Cloak and Dagger. Olivia starred as Tandy Bowen/Dagger opposite Aubrey Joseph as Tyrone Johnson/Cloak. The show lasted two seasons and the two would reprise their roles in other shows such as Marvel’s Runaways on Hulu and the animated series Spider-Man on Disney XD.
In 2021, Olivia starred as Kate Wallis on Cruel Summer. She received praise for her performance and was nominated by the Hollywood Critics Association for Best Actress in a Broadcast Network or Cable Series, Drama.
In 2023, Olivia made her Broadway debut in a revival of Chicago. She stepped into the large shoes of Roxie Hart and played the character in an eight-week run from April to June 2023. Olivia said that theatre was what made her fall in love with performing and that the role was a dream come true.
Returning to the big screen, she played a starring role in Heart Eyes (2023), a horror film about a killer stalking couples on Valentine’s Day. ~Ryan Donahue
