Amelia May "Milly" Alcock is an Australian actor best known for her breakout turn as young Rhaenyra Targaryen in HBO's House of the Dragon and for being cast as Supergirl in DC's upcoming film slate. Early life and beginnings

Milly Alcock grew up in Sydney, Australia, and began working in the industry as a teenager, first appearing on television in a 2014 episode of the drama-comedy Wonderland. She gained early experience in commercials and as a presenter on Disney Channel Australia short-form series such as B.F. Chefs and Hanging With between 2015 and 2017.​


Milly moved into dramatic roles with parts in the web miniseries High Life and the legal drama Janet King in 2017, followed by appearances in Fighting Season, A Place to Call Home, Pine Gap and Les Norton. Her performance as runaway teen Meg on the Foxtel road-trip dramedy Upright (2019–2022) earned her a Casting Guild of Australia Rising Star Award and an AACTA nomination, marking her as one of Australia’s most promising young actors.​

In 2022, Milly gained global attention as young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in the first season of House of the Dragon, a performance that led to a Critics' Choice Television Award nomination and wide critical praise. The series' success propelled her onto the international stage, establishing her as a compelling lead capable of carrying complex character arcs in large-scale fantasy storytelling.​

Milly's feature-film debut came with the 2018 horror film The School, and by the mid‑2020s she had stepped into franchise territory with a cameo as Kara Zor‑El / Supergirl in Superman (2025). She is set to headline DC Studios’ Supergirl film, widely reported under the Woman of Tomorrow branding, positioning her at the center of James Gunn’s rebooted DC Universe.​

Beyond superhero roles, Milly stars as Simone DeWitt in the 2025 Netflix thriller miniseries Sirens, opposite Julianne Moore.
