Mikey Madison Biography

Mikaela Madison Rosberg, known professionally as Mikey Madison, was born in Los Angeles California. She has four siblings, including her twin brother.

Growing up, Mikey trained to be a competitive horseback rider. In 2013 she made her acting debut with a couple of short films, Retirement and Pani’s Box. The following year she decided to make acting her career.

In 2015, she made her feature film debut in Liza, Liza, Skies are Grey (2015).

The next year, she starred on the comedy-drama series Better Things playing the role of Max Fox, the angry oldest daughter of Samantha Fox, played by Pamela Adlon. The show ran for five seasons with Mikey appearing in all 52 episodes.

In 2019, Mikey landed a role in Quentin Tarantino's film Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood (2019), playing a member of the Manson family. In 2022, she appeared as Amber Freeman in Scream (2022), for which she was deemed a standout performer by critics.

Her performance in those two films caught the eye of director Sean Baker, who had begun development on the film Anora (2024). Sean wrote the titular part for Mikey and would keep in contact with her through the writing process. Mikey described the relationship with Sean as “the most collaborative experience” she had ever had as an actor.

In 2024, the film received critical acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival, winning the Palme d’Or. Mikey’s performance received praise as well, as she was nominated for and won numerous awards from a variety of bodies such as the Los Angeles Film Critics Association and the National Board of Review. She was nominated by the five premier awards shows in Hollywood for Best Actress, those being the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards, BAFTA, SAG Awards and the Oscars.
