Born: October 12, 2000

Born in London, England and daughter to Oscar-award winning actress Kate Winslet and filmmaker Jim Threapleton, Mia Winslet Threapleton was born into the world of film and has been steadily making her own mark in the space. After her acting debut at age 13 in Alan Rickman’s period drama A Little Chaos (2014), she honed her craft and decided to go by her lesser known surname to avoid bias during auditions.

She appeared on television in the period drama Dangerous Liaisons (2022) as Rose, then starred as Freya opposite her mother Kate Winslet in the BAFTA-winning Channel 4 special I Am… (2019 - 2022). She appeared as Honoria Marable on Apple TV+’s The Buccaneers (2023) and landed her first lead film role in Wes Anderson’s The Phoenician Scheme (2025), portraying Sister Liesl in a Cannes-premiered ensemble alongside Tom Hanks, Benicio del Toro, and Scarlett Johansson. Her breakout in The Phoenician Scheme (2025) is earning her praise for her commanding, nuanced performance in a Wes Anderson ensemble. ~Erin Grace
