Mena Massoud is an Egyptian-born Canadian actor who grew up in Markham, Ontario. He attended St. Brother André Catholic High School and graduated from Ryerson University's notable theater program. He got his first big break starring in ABC Spark and Teen Nick's mystery-drama television series Open Heart as Jared Malik.
Since then, Mena has appeared in several major films and TV productions including Combat Hospital (2011), King (2012), Masters in Crime (2017), Ordinary Days (2017), and Saving Hope (2017). In 2018 it was announced that, after an extensive worldwide search, Mena landed the role of Aladdin in the Disney live-action adaptation of Aladdin(2019), directed by Guy Ritchie. Mena also stars as Tarek Kassar in Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan and in the feature film Strange But True (2019).
Returning to Toronto, Mena played Rob Ford's right hand man in the political drama Run This Town (2020).
Most recently, Mena played Prince Thomas opposite former Disney child star Laura Marano in the Netflix romantic comedy film, The Royal Treatment (2022).
In his free time, Mena enjoys playing basketball, horseback riding and staying active.
