This documentary is about a series of photos taken in the fall of 2003 by U.S. soldiers in the 372nd Military Police Company at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. In particular, three iconic photos changed the world, the war and America's image of itself. (1) Private First Class Lynndie England posing with a prisoner on a leash. (2) The hooded man standing on a box with wires attached to his fingers. (3) A pyramid made up of naked prisoners. This documentary -- which Morris calls a "non-fiction horror movie" -- shows how the photos served as both an exposé and a coverup.

Why were they taken? What was happening outside the frame? Among the interviewees are the soldiers who took the photos.
