Born: November 14, 1996
Mason Gooding was born in Los Angeles, California to Sara and actor Cuba Gooding Jr. He attended Windward High School in California where he played varsity football, but also discovered an interest in acting. After high school, he was accepted into the New York University Tisch School of the Arts to study dramatic writing and psychology. He dropped out during his junior year to pursue acting full-time.
Despite dropping out, Mason booked his first couple of roles while still in university. He made his on-screen debut on the Dwayne Johnson HBO series Ballers in 2018, appearing as Parker Jones for three episodes.
The next year, Mason made his feature film debut as Nick in the Olivia Wilde high school comedy film Booksmart (2019), starring Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein.
In 2022, Mason appeared as Chad Meeks-Martin in the much-anticipated horror film Scream (2022), starring Jenna Ortega. He reprised his role as Chad in Scream VI (2023) and is set to appear once again in Scream 7 (2026).
In 2024, Mason appeared alongside Dylan Sprouse in the action film Aftermath (2024). Mason says his football background helped him in picking up the fight choreography.
In 2025, Mason continued his horror streak by co-starring in the romance slasher film Heart Eyes (2025) alongside Olivia Holt.
