Manny Jacinto Biography

Born: August 19, 1987

Born in the Philippines, Manny Jacinto was raised in British Columbia, Canada. He has a degree in civil engineering from the University of British Columbia, but decided to pursue acting as a career.

After landing some gigs in Vancouver, he moved to Los Angeles. In 2016 he was cast as lovable goofball Jason Mendoza on the hit comedy series The Good Place, starring alongside Ted Danson and Kristen Bell. The role was his breakthrough and he earned many positive reviews. The series concluded in 2020, but by that time Manny had many credits to his name, including a role in the film Bad Times at the El Royale (2018). He followed that up by playing Lt. Billy "Fritz" Avalone in the blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick (2022).

Currently, he stars as Qimir on the Disney+ series Star Wars: The Acolyte (2024), alongside Amandla Stenberg.
