Born in Texas, Lucas Till grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. When he was 11, his mother enrolled him in acting classes and he was soon discovered by an agent, who sent him out on auditions. He began with commercials before being cast in his first movie, the family film The Adventures of Ociee Nash (2003). His second role was in the horror film Lightning Bug (2004). With onscreen experience under his belt, Till travelled to Los Angeles to see what kind of roles he could land there. The trip was worth it—he landed his first role in a major motion picture as Johnny Cash's younger brother, Jack, in the Academy-Award winning Walk the Line (2005).
Back in Atlanta, Till continued to act in movies such as The Other Side (2006), Dance of the Dead (2008) and Lifetime Television's Not Like Everyone Else. While still in high school, he was cast in the lead role of Travis Brody, Hannah's love interest in Disney's Hannah Montana: The Movie.
After graduating high school with honors, Lucas moved to Los Angeles. He filmed guest appearances on the hit TV series House and Medium, and played a young Russian spy opposite Jackie Chan and Billy Ray Cyrus in the motion picture The Spy Next Door (2010). He also played the role of Alex Summers/Havok in the major motion blockbuster X-Men: First Class and reprised it in the sequels X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) and X-Men: Apocalypse (2016).
In 2016, Lucas landed the starring role of Angus MacGyver in the CBS adventure series MacGyver, a reboot of the popular series of the same name that ran from 1985 to 1992 and starred Richard Dean Anderson.
On the big screen, Lucas most recently played Ben in the horror flick The Disappointments Room (2016) and Tripp in the action/adventure Monster Trucks (2017).
During his spare time, Lucas enjoys playing video games.
