LINDY BOOTH

Date of Birth: April 2, 1979

Born and raised just outside of Toronto in Oakville, Ontario, Lindy Booth began writing and performing plays when she was six, for the benefit of her neighbors. In high school, she continued writing and acting, and won 1994-95 Junior Drama and 1997-98 Senior Drama Awards. Her high school drama teacher helped her get an agent after graduation, and at her third audition, Booth landed her first series, playing the role of Carrie Taylor in Eerie, Indiana: The Other Dimension, filmed in Toronto.

The show was short-lived, but Booth racked up credits in the low budget sci-fi movie Teenage Space Vampires and the TV movie Mr. Music (both 1998) before landing regular roles on two more Toronto-filmed series that ran from 1999 to 2001. In Relic Hunter she played ditzy secretary Claudia and on Disney Channel's The Famous Jett Jackson, she played 15-year-old Riley Grant, an actress who portrayed superhero "Hawk" on a television series set within the show.

Booth went on to portray Lana Turner in the award-winning miniseries Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows (2001) and was named Best Supporting Actress at the 2002 DVD Premiere Awards for her performance in straight-to-DVD release The Skulls II (2002).

Alternating between television and feature films for the next couple of years, Booth appeared as a regular on the series Odyssey Five and Platinum as well as films such as Bollywood/Hollywood (2002), Rub & Tug (2002) and Wrong Turn (2003).

After seeing her performance in Dawn of the Dead (2004), director Jeff Wadlow and co-writer Beau Bauman asked Booth to try out for their feature film Cry Wolf (2005). Though they'd almost given up on finding someone perfect for the role of Dodger after seeing dozens of actresses in Los Angeles and Toronto, they felt immediately after watching Lindy's audition that she was the girl they'd been hoping to find. She accepted the part in the horror film, opposite Jared Padalecki and Julian Morris.
