Born in Illinois, Kathryn Hahn grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. She received her Bachelors degree from Northwestern University and her Masters in Fine Arts from the Yale School of Drama. She was working in theater at the Williamstown Theater Festival when she was "discovered" by an NBC casting director.
