JONATHAN JACKSON

Date of Birth: May 11, 1982

A family trip to Universal Studios in Los Angeles in 1991 was all it took for Jonathan Jackson and his older brother, Richard Lee Jackson, to dream of becoming actors. Richard began performing in local plays, then moved to Los Angeles in 1993, where he immediately began getting roles on television. Jonathan and his mother followed closely behind, and the 11-year-old boy also immediately got work. He landed the recurring role of Lucky Spencer in the daytime soap opera, General Hospital. The role would net him many awards, including three Daytime Emmys for "Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series."

He took a break from the soap in 1994 to film his first starring role in a feature called Camp Nowhere (1994). Although his role on the soap opera kept him busy for the next few years, Jackson managed to squeeze in several television movies, including The Prisoner of Zenda(1996) and The Legend of Ruby Silver (1996), as well as guest shots on the series Boy Meet World.

In 1999 Jackson left General Hospital to pursue a film career. He immediately landed a role as the troubled 16-year-old son of Michelle Pfeiffer's character in The Deep End of the Ocean (1999). In 2000 he was compelled to return to television briefly to film the lead role in the movie Trapped in a Purple Haze (2000).

2000 turned out to be a busy year for Jackson, as he not only appeared in three features in quick succession, but also co-wrote, co-directed and co-starred in a short film with his brother, Richard Lee. The film, called Crystal Clear, won two awards at the Brooklyn Film Festival-the "Coen Brothers Award For Duo Filmmakers" and the "Festival Award." In 2001 he joined the all-star cast of Insomnia (2002), alongside A-listers such as Al Pacino, Robin Williams and Hilary Swank. In 2002, he was chosen to star in the film adaptation of the classic novel, Tuck Everlasting, co-starring Oscar winners Sissy Spacek and Ben Kingsley, as well as newcomer Alexis Bledel.

Jackson wed his former General Hospital co-star, Lisa Vultaggio, nine years his senior, on June 21, 2002. Their son, Caleb, was born June 21, 2003 and their daughter, Adora, was born in 2005. Jackson is a vegetarian and his hobbies include basketball, baseball and rollerblading.
