Irish-born and raised, Moore always had an interest in film, practicing still photography as young as age ten. Following school, he became a news cameraman which led to work as an assistant cameraman on feature length films.
Watching and learning from the directors on set, Moore left camera work and turned to the world of commercials to start directing. Unlike many other commercial directors, Moore used state-of-the-art special effects to enhance products like Adidas, Guinness and SEGA. His work was soon viewed
globally, giving Moore the exposure he needed to convince studio executives to give him a chance to direct his first feature film. That chance came in 2001 with the big budget war film, Behind Enemy Lines (2001). Flight of the Phoenix (2004) starring
