Paré studied acting in her native Montréal since she was 14 years old. She appeared in a half dozen school and amateur theater productions before landing the roles of Jesus in Godspell and Maid Marian in Robin Hood in high school productions. Her first professional performance was in the role of Rosalie Profaci in the mini-series Family: The Joseph Bonano Story.
