Born and raised in Cookham, Berkshire, this British beauty was put in the spotlight at a young age. Jessica was an experienced dancer well before her acting debut, having trained with the National Youth Ballet and the Associates of the Royal Ballet as a young girl.
At 15, Jessica was called to dance with the Kirov at the Royal Opera House for a summer season. After attending Furze Platt Senior School, Jessica was accepted to several prominent ballet schools. She decided to attend the Arts Educational School in London, which specialized in the performing arts. Her streak of success came to a sudden halt after her second year at the institution, due to three operations on her ankle that unfortunately put an end to her dancing aspirations. Jessica continued her education at the Arts Educational School and then started acting lessons at St. Martin’s College of Arts and Design.
Acting lessons had a tremendous effect on Jessica, who landed the lead role of Emelia in the feature film Albatross (2011). For her work in the film, she received two nominations for “Most Promising Newcomer” — one from the British Independent Film Awards and one from the Evening Standard British Film Awards. She also appeared on two episodes of the TV show Misfits, which led her to win a prominent role in the successful series Downtown Abbey, in which she plays Lady Sybil Branson. The cast, including Jessica, went on to win a 2013 SAG award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. Jessica also appeared in the supernatural drama Winter’s Tale (2014) opposite Hollywood icons Will Smith, Russell Crowe, Colin Farrell and Jennifer Connelly and Victor Frankenstein (2015) alongside Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy.
In addition to acting, Jessica is the face of London-based Dominic Jones jewelry.
