Born and raised with her elder sister in New York City, Esposito got right to work on her acting career, studying at the Lee Strasberg Institute. She landed her first TV role on New York Undercover in 1994, followed by her first regular gig playing Connie Soleito in the soap opera The City a year later.
After that brief stint, she worked for a time on stage and in occasional guest appearances before landing her first solid break playing Stacy, the wisecracking and feisty secretary in Spin City from 1997 to 1999. The popular sitcom launched her face, name and, as a result, her career. Esposito completed a couple of supporting roles in several independent films, including Kiss Me, Guido (1997) and No Looking Back (1998), before appearing in two Spike Lee flicks, He Got Game (1999) and Summer of Sam (2000). The latter of the two gave Esposito the chance to shine in a breakthrough lead role playing Ruby, an aspiring punk singer.
Esposito continued her fast track rise up the Hollywood ladder landing lead roles in big budget films like Dracula 2000 (2000) playing Solina, Don't Say a Word (2001) portraying Detective Sandra Cassidy, The Master of Disguise (2002) opposite Dana Carvey andWelcome to Collinwood (2002).
Though Esposito is currently single, she has dated actors Cameron Mathison and Dean Winters.
