Born in San Diego, California, Jason Earles is coy about his age. He rose to fame playing Hannah's older brother on the hit Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, but despite playing a high school student, he's a college graduate and has a wife. Whatever the case, with his short stature (5'6") and boyish good looks, Earles easily passes for a teenager and in California, where children under 18 can only work limited hours on TV and movie sets, looking young for your age is a definite asset.
Earles' first television appearance was a small role on MADtv in 2003, followed by a guest role on The Shield. His feature film debut was playing the role of Thomas Gates in National Treasure (2004), starring Nicolas Cage. But it was when he was chosen to play a recurring role on Disney Channel's popular series Phil of the Future from 2005 to 2006 that he got his big break.
Earles impressed the folks at Disney so much that they cast him in their brand new, soon-to-be hit series Hannah Montana as Hannah's annoying, but lovable brother Jackson. Since then he's reprised his role in the feature film Hannah Montana: The Movie and has also played a role as a hotel manager in the Disney Channel TV movie Dadnapped, alongside Emily Osment.
In his spare time, Earles enjoys snowboarding, playing video games and baseball. He and his wife Jennifer live in the Los Angeles area with their two cats.
