Gurinder Chadha Overview

Born in Kenya, Chadah is an Englishwoman of Indian descent. She began her career as a news reporter with the BBC, and went on to direct several award-winning documentaries. She began working on the big screen in the early '90s with the short, Acting Our Age. This was soon followed up by an award-winning full-length feature, Bhaji on the Beach, and two more short films.
