GAVIN ROSSDALE

Date of Birth: October 30, 1967

Born in London, England, Gavin Rossdale lived with his doctor father after his parents' divorce. His older sister Soraya encouraged his musical interests, and Gavin began playing guitar, eventually becoming a member of a punk band. In 1992 he formed his own band called Bush. The group was successful and by 1995 they had a record deal and began touring. Their first album, "Sixteen Stone," went platinum and they became a huge success not only in Europe but in the United States as well.

In Canada, Bush had to go by the name BushX initially, because the name belonged to Canadian guitarist Domenic Troiano. Rossdale's band eventually contributed $40,000 to two charitable foundations that Troiano was involved with and in exchange he granted them the rights to the name Bush.

As early as 1995, Rossdale's music began appearing in films such as Tank Girl, Whiteman's Burden and Mallrats. In the summer of 2002, he released his first solo song, "Adrenaline," for the movie XXX. He made his acting debut in Little Black Book (2004) starring Brittany Murphy, followed by a role in the big budget supernatural feature Constantine (2005), starring Keanu Reeves. Rossdale has also completed filming The Game of their Lives (2005) for IFC Films.

On September 14, 2002, Gavin married his longtime girlfriend, No Doubt lead singer Gwen Stefani, in London. He has a daughter, Daisy, from a previous relationship. In 2004 he formed a new band called Institute and continues to record and tour.
