Finn Cole was born and raised in Kingston, London, England. He is the fourth of five brothers, and growing up, he wanted to work on boats like his father.
Finn’s eldest brother, Joe Cole, inspired him to get into acting and helped him book the audition that led to his first big acting job.
Finn’s acting career started in 2012 when he played a background character in Offender, which starred his brother Joe.
Another role that Joe helped him book was on the hit Netflix series Peaky Blinders, which starred Joe and Academy Award-winner Cillian Murphy. Finn played the role of Michael Gray for 27 episodes, spanning from 2014 to 2022. He has said in interviews that he is not expected to reprise his role in the upcoming Peaky Blinders film.
While working on the show, Finn appeared as Eric Birling in the BBC One adaptation of An Inspector Calls in 2015. The following year, he started his stint in the main role on the American drama series Animal Kingdom. He played the role for a total of 75 episodes from 2016 to 2022.
On the big screen, Finn appeared in Slaughterhouse Rulez (2018), a lead role in Dreamland (2019) with Margot Robbie, and another lead role in Here Are the Young Men (2020) with Dean-Charles Chapman and Anya Taylor-Joy.
In 2021, Finn made a small appearance as a young Jakob Toretto (John Cena) in F9: The Fast Saga.
In 2023, he appeared in the film Locked In. In 2025, he appeared alongside Woody Harrelson and Simu Liu in Last Breath. To prepare for the movie, Finn did two weeks of open sea training with full scuba equipment.
While nothing is confirmed, it is rumored that Finn is currently in a relationship with Florence Pugh.
