DAVID MIRKIN Writer, director and executive producer, Mirkin began his career on stage doing stand-up comedy in New York City and around the United States. In 1984 he left the stage and began writing for television shows like Three's a Crowd, The Simpsons and Newhart. Soon after signing on with the Newhart writing team, the studio promoted him to executive producer of the show.
