A relative unknown to American audiences just a few years ago, Daniel Craig made his name through theater, television and film across the pond.
Working on stage with the Peter Hall Company of Old Vic and the National Theatre, Craig appeared in productions such as Hurlyburly and Angels in America.
In 1992, he landed the role of Sergeant Botha in the feature film, The Power of One. He went on to find more work with supporting work in films such as A Kid in King Arthur's Court (1995), Obsession (1997) and Elizabeth (1998).
Following the success of Elizabeth, Craig went on to star in a number of films for which he received awards. His portrayal of George Dyer in Love is the Devil won him an award from the Edinburgh International Film Festival for Best British Performance. The next year he was nominated for Best Actor by the British Independent Film Awards for his work in The Trench (1999), and the year after that he won the honor, playing Ray in Some Voices (2000).
On television, Craig has appeared in a number of popular British shows seen in the United States, among them The Icehouse, Moll Flanders, Kiss And Tell and Our Friends In The North. He has even appeared in an episode of the Lucas-produced television series The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.
He started off the new millennium with a number of feature films including Hotel Splendide (2000), I Dreamed of Africa (2000) starring Kim Basinger, and Tomb Raider (2001) starring Angelina Jolie. In 2005 he received a London Critics Circle Film Award as British Actor of the Year for Enduring Love (2004).
In October 2005, it was announced that he would be the first blond actor to take on the role of James Bond, earning him international status. He played Bond in 2006's Casino Royale and again two years later in Quantum of Solace. He reprised his role once again in 2012 for the next film, Skyfall. But before suiting up to play Bond for a third time, Craig appeared in the nature documentary One Life (2012) about the journey of our world's many living creatures.
Daniel, who has an adult daughter with his first wife, married his Dream House (2012) co-star, Rachel Weisz, on June 22, 2011.
In 2015, he starred in his fourth Bond film, Spectre (2015). More recently he was seen in Logan Lucky (2017) and the romantic drama Kings (2018).
