Born in Vienna, Austria, Christoph Waltz's near 30-year career as an actor includes an impressive roster of award-winning television, film and stage credits.
His film credits include Lapislazuli (which debuted at the Berlin Film Festival), Berlin Blues, Gun-Shy, Angst, She, Dorian, The Beast, Falling Rocks, Ordinary Decent Criminal, Our God's Brother and Goldeneye.
Christoph is perhaps best known in Austria for his countless guest star and telefilm roles. The telefilms Der Tanz Mit Dem Teufel - Die Entfuhrung and Dienstreise Was Fur Ein Nacht won prestigious Adolf Grimme Awards for their creative team of director and actors. Waltz's work in Du Bist Nicht Allein - Die Roy Black Story won him a Bavarian TV Award, a German TV Award and an RTL Golden Lion Award.
For his work in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds, Christoph won multiple awards, including an Academy Award and a Golden Globe. Since then, he's gone on to star as Reese Witherspoon's animal trainer husband in the drama Water for Elephants (2011). For his work in Tarantino's Django Unchained (2012), he won a second Academy Award. He lent his voice for the film Muppets Most Wanted (2014) and reprised his role in the sequel Horrible Bosses 2 (2014).
More recently, he starred in the Bond film, Spectre (2015), the biopic Big Eyes (2015), the adventure epic The Legend of Tarzan (2016), and the period drama Tulip Fever (2017). His latest role is in the film Downsizing (2017) opposite Matt Damon.
Christoph, who is divorced and has three adult children, currently makes his home in London.
