Blake Jenner was born and raised in Miami, Florida. By the time he was nine, Blake realized he wanted to be an actor and began acting in school plays. While still in high school, he realized he had to relocate to Los Angeles to pursue his career. In order to graduate early, he attended his junior year of high school during the day while studying at night to complete his senior year.
Once in Los Angeles, Blake landed an agent and began attending auditions while working at a number of jobs to support himself over the next couple of years.
Finally, in 2011, he got his first break with a guest appearance on the ABC Family sitcom Melissa & Joey.
He appeared in a number of short films before landing a starring role as Ryder Lynn on the fourth season of the Fox TV musical series Glee. He stayed with the show from 2012 to 2015, then made the leap to the big screen with the starring role in Paramount Pictures 2016 teen comedy Everbody Wants Some!!, playing Jake, a high school baseball star who arrives at college for his freshman year and has to learn how to navigate the party scene.
He starred opposite Hailee Steinfeld in the dramedy The Edge of Seventeen (2016). and with Logan Lerman in The Vanishing of Sidney Hall (2018).
Blake, who has written the screenplay for an indie drama called Billy Boy, launched a successful Kickstarter campaign, which earned over $100,000 from 534 backers in order to fund the project.
Blake, who has three older brothers, plays drums and guitar and his favorite sport is football. He married actress Melissa Benoist in 2015, but they separated in 2016 and divorced the following year.
