BENJAMIN WALKER

Date of Birth: June 21, 1982

Benjamin Walker was born in Cartersville, Georgia and stayed there for most of his youth. When he was a teen, however, Benjamin began attending Interlochen summer arts camp in Michigan to explore his newly found interest in acting.

As his interest became a passion, Benjamin then moved on to Juilliard’s acting program in New York. It was during his last year at the prestigious institution that he landed his first role in a film. He played the 19-year-old version of the titular character in Kinsey, a biographical movie starring Liam Neeson as the adult Alfred Kinsey.

After graduating, Benjamin landed both major and supporting roles in indie films such as The Notorious Bettie Page and Unconscious. His career took a huge leap forward in 2006 when he was cast as one of the Iwo Jima flag-raisers in Clint Eastwood’s Flags of our Fathers.

During this time, Benjamin also perfected his craft by taking on several theater roles such as Mercutio in a production of Romeo and Juliet as well as being a fundamental part of the early workshops of the Broadway success Spring Awakening. He also starred as Andrew Jackson in the musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, a role for which he had to walk away from playing Beast in X-Men: First Class.

In 2012, Walker starred as the former U.S. President in the major motion picture Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. More recently, he starred in The Choice (2016).
