BEN FOSTER

Date of Birth: October 29, 1980

Boston-born and Iowa-raised, Ben Foster has performed in theater since he was six. In 1994 and 1995 he attended Interlochen Arts Camp for Acting to hone his craft. His many roles include a crack addict in the play Voices 2000 and a mentally handicapped teenager in juvenile prison in the play Juvie.

From stage, he started to get work in television. He starred in 26 episodes of the Disney series Flash Forward and was nominated for two Canadian Gemini Awards for his performance. He went on to do two telefilms, I've Been Watching You and Breakfast with Einstein in 1998, followed by a recurring role in the series Freaks and Geeks.

In 1999, Ben landed his first major feature film role in Barry Levinson's Liberty Heights. He played Ben Kurtzman, a Jewish boy in a small town who falls for a black girl. He soon followed this performance with a starring role in Get Over It (2002) and a major role in Big Trouble (2002). In 2003, he joined the cast of the hit series Six Feet Under, playing Russell Corwin, and shared a 2004 Screen Actors Guild award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.

He continued to make time for movies, however, including Hostage (2005) with Bruce Willis, the plum role of Warren Worthington III/Angel in X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), Charlie Prince in 3:10 to Yuma (2007), and notable performances in Contraband (2012) and 360 (2012).

More recently, Ben starred as Lance Armstrong in the biopic The Program(2015), and as Richard Livesey in the true story elements epic The Finest Hours (2016). He also starred as Medivh in the fantasy reboot Warcraft(2016) and as Tanner in the heist thriller Hell or High Water (2016).

Following a starring role in the action adventure Inferno(2016), based on a Dan Brown book and starring Tom Hanks and Felicity Jones, Ben played a father with PTSD who lives on the fringe with his young daughter in Leave No Trace (2018).

Ben married actress Laura Prepon on June 3, 2018. The two have a daughter named Ella.
