Ashley Tisdale was born in West Deal, New Jersey and was discovered by her current manager at South Shore Mall when she was just three years old. Tisdale quickly had her first auditions which lead her to star in over 100 national television commercials. Acting and singing soon became more than just a hobby for Tisdale when she accepted a leading role in the national touring Broadway production of Les Miserables. Shortly following this, she toured internationally with a production of Annie.
Tisdale is most notable for her recurring role as Maddie, the babysitter of devious twin boys, on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. More recently Tisdale starred with Zac Efron in the High School Musical series. When the first TV movie debuted in 2006, it was the highest rated telecast in history for the Disney Channel. At the same time Tisdale broke another record as she was the first female artist to debut with two songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart—both songs were duets with co-star Lucas Grabel. Tisdale also has a music album, Headstrong, that was released in 2006.
Tisdale's TV appearances are vast. She starred in Nathan's Choice, Mayor of Oyster Bay and The Howie Mandel Pilot. As well, she has had many guest star appearances on shows such as Grounded for Life, Boston Public, Seventh Heaven, Malcolm in the Middle, Charmed and Hannah Montana.
Tisdale had her first lead role in a major motion picture when she reprised her character Sharpay in High School Musical 3: Senior Year—the first High School Musical to appear on the big screen. Following this, Tisdale will be seen in Aliens in the Attic (2009) and You Wish (2009).
