New Jersey native Ali Larter began her career as a model at the age of 13. On a gig in Italy, she met Amy Smart (Road Trip), who was trying to be an actress. The two became best buds and upon return to LA, became roomates. It was Smart who later got Larter into some acting classes. In 1996, Esquire magazine used Larter on its cover as a fictitious actress the editors had created to illustrate the hyperbole of Hollywood hype.
