Born: May 07, 1992
Vancouver native Alexander Ludwig began his career at eight when he booked his first television commercial. Roles in several family videos followed, including Air Bud: World Pup (2000), MXP: Most Xtreme Primate (2003), and The Sandlot 3 (2007). He played a small role in Eve & the Fire Horse (2005), before landing his first starring role in a major motion picture in The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising (2007). His next starring role was in Disney's Race to Witch Mountain, alongside AnnaSophia Robb and Dwayne Johnson.
Just a couple of years later, he landed what may possibly the biggest role of his career so far—the lead role of Cato in the big-screen adaptation of The Hunger Games (2012) alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson and Woody Harrelson. Next, he starred in The Final Girls (2015) and in the thriller Blackway (2016).
After a three-year gap, he returned to the big screen in the action/adventure film Midway (2019). In 2020, he was seen in the Netflix holiday rom-com Operation Christmas Drop and also starred in Bad Boys, alongside Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.
When not in school or on film sets, Ludwig enjoys the outdoors. He spends his free time Alpine skiing at Whistler Mountain near his home in British Columbia with his three siblings and parents, as well as surfing, water skiing, playing tennis and ice hockey.
