Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, director Alejandro Chomski studied sociology for three years before moving to the United States, where he received a scholarship that enabled him to complete a Master's degree at the American Film Institute.
He began his directing career creating short films and working as an assistant for directors such as Spike Lee and Jim Jarmusch. In 2001, he won the INCAA Competition for Young Directors. His first feature film, Today and Tomorrow/Hoy y mañana, was selected for "Un Certain Regard" at the 2003 Cannes International Film Festival.
Since then, he has completed his first major motion picture for Columbia Pictures—Feel the Noise (2007)—starring famed singer-turned-actor Omarion Grandberry. Chomski has two more films in the works: A Beautiful Life starring Bai Ling and In the Country of the Last Things, starring Eva Green.
