Best known for playing Alec Hardison on the TNT series Leverage (2008-2012), and Noah on the WGN series Underground (2016-2017), Aldis Hodge has demonstrated his versatility as an actor in both film and television.

Aldis Hodge was born in Onslow County, North Carolina but was raised in New York City. His father is originally from Saint Thomas, U.S Virgin Islands, and his mother is from Florida. They both served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He grew up alongside his older brother, Edwin Hodge, who is also an actor and has several projects working alongside him.

Aldis started his career in the entertainment industry at the young age of three years old with posing for print ads for magazines and acting in commercials, until he and his brother made the move to television when they were cast on Sesame Street in 1994, staying with the show for two seasons.

At the age of nine, he and his brother played small roles in the revival of the musical Showboat on Broadway.

Aldis made his big screen debut in 1995 when he yet again appeared alongside his brother in Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995). Hodge would later be cast again in the franchise in A Good Day to Die Hard (2013) as a different character, Lieutenant Foxy.

In 2007, Aldis landed the role of Alec Hardison on the show Leverage, becoming a favorite with fans. His portrayal of Alec earned him a Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor on Television.

Some may also recognize him as MC Ren from Straight Outta Compton (2015).

In 2016, Aldis began his work as Noah on the show Underground, about a group of slaves aiming for freedom by using the Underground Railroad. That same year, he appeared in the award-winning feature film, Hidden Figures (2016), in a supporting role as Levi Jackson.

Recently, he was cast to play Hawkman in the upcoming DC film, Black Adam, alongside Dwayne Johnson.

Aldis also enjoys writing scripts for film and television, designing watches, and painting. He pursued his passion of writing and painting at one point in his career, enrolling at the Art College of Design in Pasadena, California. ~Sean Olegario
