Born in Yonkers, New York, Adam Rodriguez initially set his sights on becoming a professional baseball player, but after sustaining a serious injury in high school, he switched his focus to acting. His first stint was performing in a children’s theater in New York. While an aspiring actor living in New York City, he worked as a stockbroker.
Adam landed numerous commercials during the beginning of his acting career and also worked as an extra in shows such as The X-Files. A bit role on the crime series NYPD Blue led to him landing a regular role as Officer Hector Villanueva on the TV series Brooklyn South. When that came to an end in 1998, he played guest roles on Law & Order and Ryan Caulfield: Year One. Recurring roles on series such as Felicity, All Souls and Resurrection Blvd. followed.
The turning point in his career came when he landed a regular role as Jesse Ramirez, the boyfriend/husband of Katherine Heigl's character, Isabelle Evans, on the popular teen/sci-fi series Roswell. He was only on the show for a year before being cast in the role for which he's best known, as detective Eric Delko on the popular series CSI: Miami, having starred on it for eleven seasons. During his time on the show, he's also had the opportunity to write and direct two episodes.
During hiatus from the series, Adam keeps busy with film workmostly indie films, but he's also played supporting roles in major feature films such as Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All By Myself and the Warner Bros. production Magic Mike. Additionally, he played Bobby, Hilda's love interest in season four of the TV series Ugly Betty. More recently, he starred in Magic Mike XXl (2015) and Dax Shepard's comedy CHiPs (2017).
Adam owns a house in Puerto Rico.
