Zack Snyder (Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole) Interview

Director Zack Snyder, who has given us gritty films like 300 and Watchmen, has changed gears and gone into family mode with his latest film, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole. The 3D animated adventure is based on the best-selling children's novels and follows Soren, a young barn owl who is kidnapped by owls of St. Aggie's, ostensibly an orphanage, where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers. He and his new friends escape to the island of Ga'Hoole, to assist its noble, wise owls who fight the army being created by the wicked rulers of St. Aggie's.

Tribute's Bonnie Laufer spoke exclusively with Zack about finally making a film his kids can see, the challenges of 3D animation and who he considers his heroes.
